In 1985 Jack Hoban and Mark Hodel started the Warrior Information Network, at that time a printed newsletter with training information. As the internet dawned WIN evolved into the website www.winjutsu.com and also a Facebook Group.

Bujinkan

The Bujinkan or Divine Warrior House is an international training association headed by Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi and is based in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Dr. Hatsumi is the 34th Grandmaster head of nine koryu or feudal-era traditions passed on to him by his teacher, Toshitsugu Takamatsu the last combat Ninja of the 20th Century. The Bujinkan is composed of the following nine warrior schools:

Jack Hoban

Jack Hoban served as a US Marine Captain and is a long time practitioner of martial arts. He assisted in the creation of the US Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) and remains subject matter expert (SME) for the program. He is a master instructor in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu under Grand Master Masaaki Hatsumi in Japan. He is also a student of the late Robert Humphrey, a noted conflict resolution specialist.

Jack's approach to teaching martial arts in context of the Ethical Warrior is known world-wide. He has three published books and four videos on martial arts and has written numerous articles for international magazines and military journals on combatives and warrior ethics. Mr. Hoban also holds an MBA and is an executive in the healthcare industry. Jack's book, "The Ethical Warrior," is available HERE.

Tony

Notarianni

Daishihan Tony Notarianni has trained in martial arts for over 35 years, and started Bujinkan training in 1991. He moved to the USA 20 years ago and started training with Jack Hoban, travelling from the Philadelphia area on a weekly basis. He ran a dojo in Philadelphia for 10 years before moving to New Jersey where he continues to study and teach.

Josh

Sager

Daishihan Josh Sager has trained in the martial arts since he was a young child. Starting at age four with Jūdō and Jūjutsu, he studied a variety of different martial arts styles. For the past 25 years he has studied Bujinkan Budō Taijutsu as a student of Jack Hoban. Josh also travels regularly to Japan to train with Bujinkan grandmaster Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi and other senior Bujinkan instructors.

Michaela

Buhler

Michaela Buhler has trained in the Bujinkan as a student of Jack Hoban for over 25 years. Michaela attended many TaiKai in the US and traveled to Germany and Japan to meet and train with other Bujinkan practitioners.
